Terms of Service.
Molecule is non-custodial trading infrastructure for prediction markets. These terms cover the public site, the desk, and the API as they exist today. Molecule is currently operated as an independent early-stage software project. It is not an incorporated company, it does not hold customer funds, and it is not a venue.

1. What Molecule is — and is not
Molecule is software. It gives you an API and a desk so you can connect accounts you already hold at supported venues, including Kalshi and Polymarket, and send orders through one execution layer. A local demo venue is included so the desk can be tried without a live account.
Molecule does not custody cash, tokens, or contracts. It is not the exchange, it does not set contract outcomes, and it does not guarantee a fill, a price, liquidity, profit, or that the service will be up. Nothing here is investment, trading, legal, or tax advice.
2. Eligibility
You may use Molecule only if you can lawfully do so where you are, and only if you meet the eligibility, geographic, and account rules of each venue you connect. Molecule does not decide whether a venue will accept you. The product is being prepared for external users. Today it is an early project, not a public brokerage.
3. Accounts and credentials
You are responsible for the email and password on your Molecule account, and for every API key and venue secret you connect. Passwords are stored only as a PBKDF2-HMAC-SHA256 hash (210,000 rounds). Venue credentials are stored as AES-GCM ciphertext. An API key’s private half is shown once when the key is created; Molecule keeps the public key.
A signed-in desk tab keeps the session in that tab’s session storage until you log out or close the tab. Do not share the session, the private API key, or a venue secret.
4. Connected venues
When you connect Kalshi, Polymarket, or another supported venue, you authorize Molecule to use the credentials you supplied to read market data and to place, amend, or cancel orders you submit. The venue’s own terms, eligibility rules, and geographic limits still apply. Molecule does not own those accounts and does not control balances held there.
Orders are accepted or rejected by the venue (or, in the demo, by the local matching engine). A Molecule acknowledgement is not a fill. Queue position, partial fills, and cancels follow the venue.
5. Trading risk
Prediction-market contracts can expire worthless. You can lose the money you commit at a venue. Prices move, books gap, and a routed order can miss. You decide what to trade. Molecule does not recommend contracts and does not manage your money.
6. Fees
Molecule does not currently charge a separate platform fee. Venues charge their own fees. The router keeps a fee schedule so it can estimate venue cost when comparing routes. Those figures are estimates for routing. What you actually pay is whatever the venue charges on your account. The demo matching engine does not charge a venue fee.
7. Acceptable use
Do not use Molecule to break the law or a venue’s rules, to probe or overload the service, to interfere with another user’s account, or to submit credentials you are not allowed to use. Do not attempt to bypass signing, subaccount checks, or risk limits. Do not present Molecule as the exchange of record or as a custodian.
8. Intellectual property and market data
The Molecule site, desk, API, and documentation are protected as software and text. You receive a limited right to use them to connect your own venue accounts and to send the orders you authorize. You do not receive ownership of the software.
Market data shown in the desk is fetched from the connected venue, from that venue’s public feed, or from the demo engine. It can be delayed, incomplete, or wrong. Venue terms govern how you may reuse their data. Molecule does not guarantee that a price on the screen is the price you will trade.
9. Security
Sessions use an HttpOnly cookie named molecule_session, SameSite=Lax, with a 12-hour lifetime. The cookie is marked Secure when the API is running in production. The desk copy of the session token lives in sessionStorage for that tab and is cleared on logout. It is not kept in localStorage.
These controls reduce ordinary exposure. They are not a certification, and they do not make the service impossible to compromise. You should protect your own keys and devices.
10. Availability and changes
The site is hosted on Vercel and the API on Railway. Either can fail, slow down, or be restarted. Molecule may change, suspend, or discontinue the site, the desk, the demo venue, or any route. A restart can clear data on the current API deployment. Do not treat the desk as a system of record for live positions — the venue is.
11. Suspension and termination
You can stop using Molecule at any time and ask for an account to be deleted. Access may be suspended if the service is being abused, if a credential is compromised, or if continuing would break a venue rule or applicable law. Suspension of Molecule does not close the account you hold at Kalshi or Polymarket.
12. Disclaimers
The software is provided as it is, as an early-stage project. There is no warranty of accuracy, fitness for a particular trading strategy, uninterrupted operation, or error-free execution. Market data, routing estimates, and demo fills are not promises.
13. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Molecule’s operator is not liable for trading losses, missed or duplicate orders, stale or wrong market data, venue outages, lost profits, or decisions you make from the site, the desk, or the API. If a liability cannot legally be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid Molecule for the service in the three months before the claim. Today that amount is zero, because Molecule does not charge a platform fee and does not hold customer funds.
14. Indemnification
If a third party, including a venue, brings a claim because of how you used Molecule, the orders you sent, or credentials you connected without authority, you will cover the resulting losses and reasonable costs of the operator, to the extent the law allows.
15. Changes to these Terms
These terms can be updated as the product changes. The date at the top will move when they do. If you keep using the site or the API after an update, you are accepting the updated terms. If you do not accept them, stop using the service.
16. General
These terms are the agreement for use of this software. They do not create a partnership, a brokerage relationship, or a custodial relationship. If one section cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. Molecule is not incorporated and has not chosen a corporate governing law. Mandatory local law still applies where it cannot be waived. Venue contracts govern activity on those venues.
